About This Piece
This pen and ink drawing is possibly an early study for a sculpture known as Zingaro, the only one of Bernard’s sculptures to feature a rider (and only then in the plaster original, not in the bronze casts). Dated 2000 its date coincides with the move to Sedgewell Coach House and also a new confidence of line in Bernard’s draftsmanship.
